OPTIWAVE 6400

The OPTIWAVE 6400 is a 2-wire 24 GHz radar (FMCW) level transmitter for basic applications with solids. This radar is designed for continuous, non-contact level measurement of stones, plastic granulates, coffee beans and other in solids processing of various industries. The level transmitter features a Metallic Horn antenna as well as PP and PTFE Drop antennas. The Drop antenna design minimises scaling and is unaffected by the angle of repose. Hence no need for expensive antenna aiming kits or purging systems.

The OPTIWAVE 6400 provides accurate and reliable readings, despite uneven product surfaces or dusty atmospheres. Due to its small beam angle and high dynamic range, the 24 GHz radar can measure distances up to 100 m / 328 ft. This makes it a cost-effective, yet more powerful alternative to pulse radar transmitters. It comes with approvals for hazardous areas and can be used to upgrade radars in basic applications requiring higher accuracy. The radar transmitter offers a large range of flange and thread connections including low-cost disc flanges for low-pressure applications. Optional antenna extensions can be selected to suit any nozzle length. It features extensive device diagnostics (acc. to NE 107) and HART®7 communication.
